Purpose & brief description |
● DC withstand voltage test is mainly conducted for zinc oxide arrester, power cable, transformer, generator, high-voltage switch and other high-voltage electrical equipment. ● Test voltage. Most safety standards allow the use of AC or DC voltage in withstand voltage test. If AC test voltage is used, when the voltage peak is reached, whether it is positive or negative, the insulator to be tested will bear the maximum pressure. Therefore, if you decide to use DC voltage test, you must ensure that the DC test voltage is times the AC test voltage, so that the DC voltage can be equivalent to the AC voltage peak. For example: 1500V AC voltage, for DC voltage, in order to produce the same amount of electrical stress, it must be 1500 × 1.414, i.e. 21V DC voltage. ● Application: power product manufacturing companies, power operation departments, scientific research institutions and colleges and universities. ● Application products: cables and cable accessories, lightning arresters, mutual inductors, transformers and other high-voltage electrical components and insulating materials. |
Test purpose |
● DC withstand voltage test is a destructive test, which will damage the equipment to a certain extent during the test, which is to detect the maximum voltage peak borne by the equipment under high voltage test. It is convenient to determine the application range of the equipment and select the measuring range of the equipment. ● The DC withstand voltage test has a high voltage, which plays a special role in finding some local defects of insulation, and can be carried out simultaneously with the leakage current test. ● Compared with AC voltage withstand test, DC voltage withstand test has the advantages of light test equipment, less insulation damage and easy to find local defects of equipment. Compared with AC voltage withstand test, the main disadvantage of DC voltage withstand test is that due to the different voltage distribution inside the insulation under AC and DC, the test of DC voltage withstand test on insulation is not as close to reality as AC. ● The withstand voltage strength of insulation under DC voltage is higher than that under AC voltage. Therefore, AC voltage withstand test and DC voltage withstand test cannot replace each other. |
